[bjm_danse] les Ballets Jazz de Montréal
Since 1972, [bjm_danse] les Ballets jazz de Montréal has developed a unique contemporary repertoire. Founded by pioneering Quebec dance artists Geneviève Salbaing, Eva Von Gencsy and Eddy Toussaint to focus on jazz dance, this company has since evolved and improvised, in the spirit of jazz itself, in a series of new directions. Today, its dancers are exploring and elaborating new forms of dance by working with such exciting young artists as Crystal Pite, currently the company’s guest choreographer in residence. Based in Montreal, [bjm_danse] les Ballets Jazz de Montréal has earned a significant international reputation over the past three decades. The company spends the majority of time touring the world and since its inception has performed for more than two million people in fifty-eight countries on five continents.
