Dance Touring Grants - National

1 October for tours occurring after this deadline.
If either date falls on a weekend or statutory holiday, the deadline moves to the next business day. Your completed application form and all required support material must be postmarked on or before the deadline date.

Program Description
The Dance Touring Grants - National program assist with travel, accommodation, per diem and freight costs incurred when a Canadian artist or dance company tours in Canada.

Program Objectives
The objectives of this program are to:
- facilitate the national touring of Canadian dance
- increase touring opportunities for dance artists and companies
- develop audience knowledge and appreciation of all dance forms
- enhance programming options for presenters
- extend the life of significant dance works through exposure to many audiences.

Eligibility
Professional Canadian dance artists, groups, collectives and non-profit companies may apply. All dance forms of all world cultures are eligible for support.
General Eligibility:
- Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada. They do not need to be living in Canada when they apply.
- Applicants must either be professional Canadian artists or representatives of a professional Canadian dance company or collective. The Canada Council defines a professional artist as someone who has specialized training in the field, is recognized as a professional artist by his or her peers, is committed to devoting more time to artistic activity if possible financially, and has a history of public presentation.
- At least one performance must be confirmed in writing.

Grant Amount
Grants will not exceed 40 percent of a tour’s total expense.
The program’s daily contribution for combined accommodation and per diem is $125 per person per day.
